STUDIO NOTES: Made with movement & balance in mind, the dynamic harmony found in my work is about relationships - among forces, elements and objects in the world around us; between human beings & the myriad, ever-changing landscapes of that world; between the earthly & ethereal elements that make us human. An ode to ancient treasure with a nod to modern design, I aim to create versatile adornment that transcends time.

JEWELRY CARE
-
Created to complement the human form, jewelry is made to be worn! That said, it is best to remove delicate chains and most earrings before swimming & water sports, vigorous exercise, and sleeping.
-
Exposure to air & moisture causes brass, bronze, sterling silver - and even 14k gold - to darken with time. This patina can add a desired richness to the metal, but to keep pieces bright & shiny:
-
Buff lightly with a treated polishing cloth or use a metal polish (Wright's, Brasso, etc.) for a deeper clean.
-
Avoid removing & storing jewelry in the bathroom to minimize exposure to moisture AND the risk of losing it down the drain!
-
Store items in airtight containers/bags when possible.
MATERIALS
GOLD- FILLED: Despite the name, gold-filled metal is not actually filled with gold. "Gold-filled" is just an age-old term that made its way into the jewelry industry lexicon; it is made by mechanically bonding a thin layer of gold to a brass (or other base metal) core. The value and durability of gold-filled is greater than gold-plated because gold-filled has an actual layer of karat gold - not just a microscopic film - as is the case with gold-plated items.
STERLING SILVER: An alloy of silver containing 92.5% silver by weight and 7.5% other metals (usually just copper). Marked “925” or “sterling.”
BRONZE: An alloy of copper and tin (roughly 90% copper 10% tin).
BRASS: An alloy of copper and zinc.
YELLOW BRASS: 70% copper 30% zinc.
